JAMES STEVENSON

 

Mr. Stevenson has been a beacon of light for the health and fitness industry for many years. With over 33 years of experience in the health and fitness industry, including 5 years in Karate, 10 years of competitive body building and 10 years in competitive power lifting, Mr. Stevenson has assisted in enhancing the lives of thousands of people. His experiences have provided him with the opportunity to design and implement stress management to self-esteem workshops and lectures, health and wellness programs for youths, seniors, at risk populations and people with disabilities. He has assisted in the development of the following:

 

  • Designed and implemented exercise education and training classes for women called “Women On Weights”
  • Designed and implemented ZOOM youth exercise education and training program in the Paw Paw, Michigan Public School System
  • Lectured at the Detroit Recovery Project Treatment Center
  • Designed and implemented a strength and conditioning program for Kalamazoo College Volleyball Team
  • Designed and implemented strength and conditioning programs for the developmentally challenged Wheel Chair Basketball Team.
 
Mr. Stevenson has also developed medical based exercise education and training programs.  His experiences as a former gym owner and fitness director, has provided him with the opportunity to design and implement health and wellness programs and share his holistic approach to training. Below is a partial list of programs that Mr. Stevenson has developed:

 

  • Developed and implemented accredited class for the Henry Ford Health System Managed Care College “Exercise Education to Improve Patient Care”
  • Taught exercise-counseling course for 2nd and 3rd year residents at the Henry Ford Health System to improve patient care
  • Designed and implemented an exercise education and training program for the Henry Ford Health System Center for Medical Treatment Effectiveness Programs with patients with Type II Diabetes. (AIMHI Program)
  • Designed and implemented an exercise education and training program called “LEAP” (Lifestyle Enrichment and Advancement Program) for cancer survivors and patients of the Josephine Ford Cancer Center
  • Designed and implemented an exercise education and training course for Wayne State University, College of Nursing Students, for their health promotion curriculum
  • Conducted “Stress Management Through Movement” Workshops for a variety of groups and organizations

  • Power Lifting Competitions- State Record Holder
  • Green Belt in Tae Kwon Do Karate
  • Wrote monthly health and fitness article for METRO HEALTH News Paper, a Detroit Michigan monthly health & wellness news source
