Paul Grymkowski 

 

Paul Grymkowski was born and raised in the upstate city of Rochester, New York. His business experience started at an early age with several enterprising businesses throughout grammar school and high school. Along with maintaining a business major GPA of 4.0 throughout high school and college and lettering in the sports of wrestling and football, Paul (as a student) also owned and operated a building maintenance/landscaping company and a catering business.

In April of 1980 Paul moved to Santa Monica, CA to join his brother as one of four managing partners of Gold's Gym Enterprises, Inc. With the titles of President and International Director (Gold's Gym Franchising, Inc.), Paul, during his 19-year tenure with Gold's Gym redefined the business aspect of the fitness industry by developing the first comprehensive franchising system for facility operations. His efforts contributed to the opening of 535 franchised Gold's Gym fitness centers in 47 states and 24 countries, with over two million members.

In August 1999 the Gold's Gym Corporation was sold to Brockway/Moran & Partners and Heller Financial, Inc. for between $50-million and $100-million.

During his 30+-years in the Fitness Industry, Paul has developed extensive domestic & global fitness contacts and business experience.

Paul is now self-employed as a consultant and advisor specializing in general business, franchising and licensing strategic planning, along with dispute arbitration and negotiation. He sits on the boards of three International Corporations. He is co-founder and President of Health Engineering Group, LLC, a global health systems integrator. He is the head usher and sits on the Liturgy board of his church (Corpus Christi Parish, Pacific Palisades, CA). As a 4th. Degree Knight, he holds the titles of Chancellor and Council Director of Santa Monica Bay Council #920, Knights of Columbus. He also sits on the board of directors and is Vice President of the Will Geer Theatricum Botanicum (a non-profit repertory theatre and academy), along with holding advisory board seats with the Topanga Chamber of Commerce and Topanga Coalition For Emergency Preparedness (T-CEP). He is co-director of H.O.P.E. (Helping Other People Eat) a non-profit food and services program for the homeless in Santa Monica, California.

He enjoys Gourmet Cooking, Ballroom Dancing and the study of Functional/Preventative Medicine.

Paul resides with his fiancée, Joanna Gunst, on Horseshoe Drive in the Fernwood area of Topanga Canyon, California.
